Do you want to lead, develop, and train personnel within an operation that constitutes an important part of the Swedish Armed Forces' medical capability? The Hospital Battalion is looking for a Platoon Commander for the Training and Exercise Platoon.

About the Training and Exercise Platoon

The Training and Exercise Platoon plays a central role in the battalion's development, particularly within healthcare. The platoon is responsible for planning and conducting, among other things, duty-specific training and the battalion's development within medical care.

The platoon consists of different professional categories: civilians, specialist officers, and GSS/K (Swedish Armed Forces Reserve). The platoon is growing and is currently staffed primarily by civilian clinical personnel.

Main Duties

As Platoon Commander, you are responsible for the platoon's operations, personnel, and development. You lead the platoon's daily work and ensure that training, exercises, and operations are carried out according to set goals.

Your duties include, among other things:

• Lead training and exercises aimed at the unit's medical and military capabilities.
• Be responsible for training and exercise activities.
• Be responsible for the platoon's personnel, working environment, and development.
• Participate in the battalion's planning and development work.
• Coordinate operations with other parts of the unit.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Completed officer education or specialist officer education.
• Swedish citizenship.
• Class B driver's license.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good physical fitness according to the Swedish Armed Forces' requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the position of Platoon Commander or Deputy Platoon Commander.
• Experience from medical units or medical operations.
• Experience in training and exercise planning.
• Experience from national or international operations.
• Good ability to plan, lead, and follow up on operations.
• Knowledge of military medical service and healthcare in field environments.
• Instructor in healthcare.
• Instructor TCCC Combat Medic Corpsman (CMC).

The Defence Medical Centre (FömedC) is the Swedish Armed Forces' centre for the function of defence medicine, located in Gothenburg. FömedC consists of a leadership with staff, the Swedish Armed Forces Combat School for Defence Medicine (FSS), the Functional Unit (FunkE), and the Hospital Battalion (Sjhbat). At the centre, there is licensed health and medical personnel such as doctors, veterinarians, nurses, etc. Here you will find officers, reserve officers, civilian staff, and conscripts. The Defence Medical Centre is part of the Gothenburg Garrison.
